For the family's use, the following information comes from the Church Manager of St. Olave Hart Street, London, in response to my inquiry about Bartholomew Taliferro. May 2008.
He writes:
We have modern printed transcripts of the parish registers for 1563 to 1700 here and records outside these dates (as well as the originals of the registers for 1563-1700) are held by the City Corporation. Inspection of the transcripts reveals the following entry in the Burials Register:
"1601… Sep.22 Bartlemew Tallifero, a stranger"
"Stranger" I take to mean "foreigner". Where no specific place is mentioned for burial the inference is that the person was buried in the churchyard rather than in the crypt of the church. Spelling of names during the period in question varied wildly!

"1593… July 21 Oratio Tallifer, a boy, pl [denotes death by plague, of which there are many instances recorded in 1593]" [see baptism entry for Jan. 16 1586 above]
"1593… Aug.2 Jacob Tallifer, a childe [no cause of death given]" [see baptism entry for March 18 1592 above]
"1596… Dec. 10 Bartelmew s. Bartlemew Tallifer, stranger" [see baptism entry for Dec. 9 1596 above]
Marriages
"1602… May 15 Thomas Graye & Joane Tallifero, vidua [widow, presumably of "Bartlemew Tallifero", buried on Sep.22 1601]
