I am told it is a phonetic spelling and sounds like Toliver. Some that have the spelling with the 1 “L” Toliver are not related to our line of Tolliver’s, 2 “LL’s”. That is we have not found the connection. My husband’s line can trace back to Bartholomew Taliaferro. A cousin did the DNA test 2 years ago.
