Hi Gayle--Hope you are still out there in 2008 because I have info for you. I too am researching Talbotts in KY. Lula Belle Talbott is actually Louella Stiles Talbott. I think Lula Belle was a nickname--it is how she was listed in 1880 Federal census but there are many forms & misspellings of her name. I get my version from my grandmother Grace Talbott Alston Terrill, who was her niece. Louella's father was Aris Joseph Talbott of Bourbon Co., KY(1818-1895) & her mother was Fanny Borbridge Layng(1837-1909) of Harrisburg, PA. I have a list of Louella's siblings if you want. Her sister Mittie Grimes Talbott was my maternal great grandmother. Fanny had about 17 children--so it is quite a list. No single census report gives the full scope of the family. And Fanny was not Aris's first wife either. I have much more, so email me if you want to compare notes. Are you a cousin? ---S.N.
