I haven't done the research to make (or disprove) a connection. I do recall from my visit to the Malahide estate that the Talbots represented in the numerous portraits scattered about were a very homely lot, so I was hoping that any connection between us stayed remote.
If you've got information on your forbears descended from Matthew, you should contact Farris Womack, who maintains the Matthew Talbot site. I checked to see if you're listed on it, and you aren't. The site is a collaboration of many people who have been researching their own lines and have pooled their information. Any additional information that you have that you'd be willing to share would further enhance the site. If you have any other informtion or lore that you could share to flesh out the site, those would also be welcome.
