A while back there was a discussion of Joseph Talbert's Revolutionart War Service and people were asking whether he served at Yorktown. The DAR has accepted Joseph Talbert as a Patriot, but list his service as "receiving a Certificate for Specie". This means he supported the was monetarily, and was considered by DAR to have given Patriotic Service, but does not indicate military service. Several members got in to DAR by connection to his son Ansell. I did not see any mention of Yorltown, but did not see the official record, just a summary.
