Interesting story. I cannot deny there may be Native American blood in our family lines and the name would certainly fit my line as the men are usually over 6 feet tall. There's too much that's still unknown. The surname name though was changed as a simple result of illiteracy and phonetic spelling by census takers. TOLLADAY was the original spelling and originates from England. Another story that has been handed around is Toll - A - Day and could have been a tax collector, toll bridge worker etc . . . Henry Talady however was mistaken for a "native" at least once - as you'll see if you visit the Tolladay Family Heritage Website at http://www.angelfire.com/nv/tolladay/index.html - Maybe one day we'll know.
