Taiwan Son 1970-1971
An American stationed in Taiwan "Formosa" fathered a son, abt.May 3, 1970 - 1971.
We may never meet nor ever speak, but if ever in time, someone has inquiries, which i hope they will, I hope you are that "lost son", found.
You were born May 3rd on your father's birthhay(May3) I heard.
Only thing i heard from mom ( your grandmother )was how happy your father was when you wre born and his delight in you coming into his life. Seeing your picture, abt. age 10-11 mos. melted my heart. Inthat beautiful face, i saw your father. Such a handsome man I know you would have become and tall. Your father was like 6'2 or 3,always had to stoop in mom's house.
Your father was 35-36 when you were born.
He was a Master Sgt. with the United States AirForce and he was based out of Altus Air Force base. He served in Vietnam
He ,at some point was stationed in Taiwan, and met your mother.
He served 23 yrs. in the Air Force before he passed away at age 40.
His passing was a great sorrow because he was such a fun, and loving man.
I've thought about you so much over the years since my brother's death in 1976( you would have been 6-7 yrs old then. You're a grown man, close to my son's age,40-41.
Time doesn't stand still and soon I too, must join your father.
My journey has been a tedious one in search of my own ancestors and while doing so I cannot forget about YOU.
Blood of his blood, flesh of his flesh, you are missed.Without having seen you, w/o hugging you, you haved been missed.
God Bless you and yours 'til we meet 1 day.
father: Master Sgt.Richard Gene Barton ( 1935-1976)
United States Airforce( stationed ) out of
Altus, Jackson, Oklahoma in 1976.
