During the 1960's I sponsored a little 3rd. grade girl in Tainan, Taiwan, China named Lee Mei-Chen. I was around 14 or 15 yrs. old at the time.I still have her picture and the info that came with it.: Sponsorship #75663 - Home #55 - Tainan Family Helper - Tainan, Taiwan. This was through the "Christian Childrens Fund." Mei-Chen's family is marked by extreme poverty and privation. The father, a poor laborer, died of celebral apoplexy some time ago, leaving the mother alone to provide the children. Life then became a continous struggle for the woman and her youngsters. She has had a very hard time trying to keep the family from starving. She works long, hard hours as a laborer too, but the hardships finally became too much for her and she had to seek outside assistance. When the case came to the attention of our caseworkers, we could not hesitate to give our help. We were happy to welcome the girl to our Family Helper Project. Your sponsorship will mean much to her. Born: January 13, 1959 Sex: girl Grade: Third Favorite Subject: Arithmetic Health: Good Progress: Satisfactory Chores: Sweeping Favorite Play: Dodge Ball I have kept her picture and information all these years and would like to find her to share pictures, stories, etc. and to find out how she is doing now. She would now be 48 years old and I've thought of her often. Sincerely Ms. Annmarie J. Bissonnette-Christian Southampton, Massachusetts U.S.A. Notify Administrator about this message?
