John & Mary Tait Scotland to Ontario

I am searching for information on the ancestors and descendants of John (1785 - ?) and Mary (nee unknown) (1785-1870) Tait, who emigrated with their son, George, and other unknown children, but a possible son William, in the 1830s from Scotland to Ontario, Canada. Mary died in Bowmanville. George (1831/34-1901) married Martha Washington Soper (1841-1894) in 1862 in Durham. George was a ship captain on the great lakes for a number of years. I am unsure if his father was the John Tait shipbuilder or not, but it certainly seems like it's a fit. George and Martha bought property near the Delaware/ Maryland border near Denton, Maryland, USA about 1885 from the Wileys (also I think might be a family connection), and George became a fruit farmer. George and Martha's children were Beatrice (m. Michael), Anna (m. Thomas), Catherine, Georgia, John Douglas, George Lorne Campbell, William, Lawrence, and Mary Alice. Another child, Helena, died before they moved to the Delaware/ Maryland area. Anna, Beatrice, and Beatrice were all members of the Army Nurse Corps during WWI. They lived together with Mary Alice in Philadelphia for a number of years. Both George and Martha died in Delaware, as well as Martha's parents, who preceded their immigration by a few years. I am looking for any information on this branch of my family.
