Mornin' Becky, Just really wanted to clarify a couple of your remarks. You indicated "no clue where in Canada" re Cordelia's birth, and you have info on husband & children. What does that mean? In 1850 they are in McHenry co.Il. with oldest son in the household born NY.(Corydon, born 1843) The 1880 Racine co,Wi.census indicates Cordelia L.'s nativity was Quebec. An obit as we know them today may not have been in a newspaper but there may have been an article anywhere in the newspaper regarding the event. Might want to check with the Racine library for their newspaper archives. Also, Ancestry has an index "Quebec Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection) 1621-1967. On it is an entry for a Joseph Cornelius Henry GAGNE, (double indexed also as) Joseph Cornelius Henry TAGUE. I don't subscribe to that part of Ancestry so have no idea when or what it refers to. I also didn't check the pre 1850 census indexes for Henry Tague in NY. My guess if he's there it would be close to the border. Dick
