Oh I took that comment about Patrick as being from Moses Sr.! So I guess nobody has the full obit, that is a shame, because it just might have more goodies in it! The book "Old Abbeville" has 16 pages that mention Moses, I got copies of those pages from the South Caroliniana Library in Columbia, it is some sort of historical library on a college campus, and the archives is just up (or maybe down) the street. The main info is that Moses was postmaster, sheriff, judge (ordinary), first Abbeville mayor, owned a tavern, owned a hotel. I see him as a wheeler dealer, he seems to be into everything. It also says his daughter Mary married a Perrin (though I think it has the wrong first name), his son John was sheriff in 1834 (he later moved to Alabama, we have heard from some of his descendants), his son Lewis was a physician. You know, the bit about Patrick is very interesting, because the name is nowhere in any of the family that I have seen. The name Francis IS in the family though, it is several places, and possibly one record in Ireland.
