I have just started my genealogy research in the past month or two and have come to a bit of a roadblock in my research. I am hoping someone will be able to help me. My line of Tafts ended up in Lincoln Co, Tenn.
My great grandfather was Oliver Perry Taft (b 1863 in TN) and he married Margaret Cordelia Taft (b 1876).
OP was the son of David M Tafts (b 1832) & Sarah Frances.
Margaret Cordelia was the daughter of Matthew Harvey Tafts (1840-1916) & Mona Elizabetheth Satterfield (1845-1918). Matthew was born in Lincoln Co TN and Mona was born in TN as well.
Matthew Harvey is the son of Daniel Tafts (1800-1869), who appears to have immigrated from Ireland to SC in 1832 acc to the SC Naturalization records. He married Margaret McCann (d 1870) from SC
Does any of this sound familiar or fit with the information you have? I am trying to determine more about these two families, how they were related, etc. and have come to a wall. Any help would be much appreciated.
