I would like to communicate with anyone that can give me more information on Juan Tafoya that married Domitilia Gonzales Meastas and who owned two ranches in Anton Chico, New Mexico at the time the railroad was first coming into the state. He supplied food to the railroad or railroad workers and owned a number of horses that he raced on weekends in Las Vegas. Domitilia was the daughter of a half Indian lady by the name of Meastas, wife of the Meastas that curved the alter at the church in Anton Chico. Domitilia had two sisters, Gonsagita and Ida, and two brothers, by the names of Macedonio and Juaquin. Macedonio later moved to Cozad, Nebreska and died there. Domitilia and Juan were the parents of Eduardo Carmen Tafoya, Anne Tafoya and Felipe Tafoya. Please ask around whereever you meet or know of Tafoya's that can link me to any information that concerns Juan Tafoya. Juan Tafoya, my grandfather, died when my father, Eduardo, was still a child. My grandmother was the the granddaughter of an Pueblo Indian chief by the name of Gonzales. Please contect me with any information concerning the subjects Juan and Domitilia Tafoya. floridatafoya@yahoo.com
