The parents of your James Carter Tadlock were Andrew Tadlock and Margaret Bateman.

I have three children listed for them, but there might be a few more as well, (Francis M Tadlock, Carter Tadlock, and Green Bateman Tadlock)

You can view the family in the 1850 census for Covington, Tipton County, Kentucky. If you are using a census search engine, the Tadlock name is somehow indexed as LA Flock (Andrew LA Flock) but it is clearly Tadlock.

Andrew's parents were Joshua Tadlock and Nancy (?).

Joshua's parents were Thomas C. Tadlock and Sarah Elizabeth Jane Jones.

Thomas' parents were Edward Tatlocke and Elizabeth (?). This Edward was the first of the family line to arrive in North America, landing in southern Virgina (possibly near the James River as suggested by another researcher of the line) in 1702.

I say that there might be more siblings to Francis and Carter (all my records simply have the name Carter ... yours is the first I have encountered it as being James Carter) is that the 1840 census for Harrodsburg, Mercer County, Kentucky indicates 2 males between 10-15 that I have no name for and a female between 5-10. They might be siblings, but may also be otherr family members ... most likely siblings for whom I can not as yet account.

I hope this helps.
