Hi James:
I apologize for the confusion. In my hurry to get the Email off to you yesterday, I got the Alberts and Greens mixed up.JAMES ALBERT Tadlock Married Melinda C. Boyles. Albert Green Tadlock was the son of William James and Flaneila (Her first marriage). Sorry about the mistake. In searching the Land records of Perry County, AL I found three Albert Greens.I was never able to decide if they were the same or different people. Nor did I connect them to James Albert Green.
Reference the T. G. Lancaster, I have in my notes, that there were two Lancasters. One with the initials T. G. and the other William C.They were apparently brothers and both served in the Civil War with the 6th and the 46th Mississippi Infantry.T. G. was born in Mississippi in 1834 and died in 1925. William C. was born in Virginia in 1829 and died in 1907. Some family members of the Tadlock family believed that one of the husbands of Flanelia was killed in the Civil War, but if her husband was either of these two then that is not true. Both are buried in Smith County, Mississippi. After the death of Mr. Lancaster, (the story goes that Flanelia married a man from Texas and was never heard from again). Supposedly, she left two small boys, who were taken in and raised by her parents, James Albert and Melinda Tadlock.
James some of this may tie in with what I sent you yesterday since the 1870 Census of Alabama shows two grand children in the home of their grandparents. However, it also may conflict with the arrival of the James Albert Tadlocks in Mississippi.I am not sure when they migrated to Mississippi, but it was after the Civil War since Malcolm Demas and John Webster both served in Company "K", 11th Alabama Infantry during he Civil War.
Possibility?? Did Flanelia marry 4 times? was her first or second husband one of the Lancaster Brothers? I don't know, but I sure would like to find out.
In Further research, I find that there were two T. G. Lancasters serving in the Civil War.One served as a Private in Company "G", 46th Regiment of the Mississippi Infantry and the other served as a private in Company "G", 6th battalion, of the Mississippi Inafantry (Balfour's Battalion). I did not find a William C. Lancaster, but I did find two W. G. Lancasters serving in the same two units as the above for T. G. Lancasters.
James, if you could send me what you have on your Tadlock research, perhaps I can compare it with what I have and see if there are any connections.I would like to look at your material if you would care to let me.
I believe that there is a connection with the Mississippi Tadlocks. You asked if William James and Flanelia changed their last name to Tadlock. As far as I know they did not.Only the two boys William and Albert Green changed their name to Tadlock.
I do not know the reason for the change. I will throw another log on the fire, The two boys both stayed in Mississippi. They did not go to Texas with their mother, SOooooo!!
I have given a lot of thought to this situation, but have not come up with any answers. If you can help, please let me know.
