John and Keziah Tackett Townsend Young had eleven children. The eldest, Jacob Reed, b. Aug. 26, 1790 d. 1879 was my GGGG Grandfather. He married Nancy Ann Stephenson, b. 1788 in 1810. His brothers and sisters were:
Elizabeth, b. Oct. 13, 1792 d. after 1883. Married William Naylor.
Margaret, b. jan. 18, 1794 d. abt. 1863. MarriedJohn Bird Young, a cousin on Aug. 14, 1816.
Charles, b. 1796 d.Married Louisa Ashley
John Darien, b. 1799 d.Married Elizabeth James (He was a Lt. in the Union Army)
Mary Polly, b. Oct. 10, 1802 d.Married Richard Ashley on Aug. 14, 1816.
Nancy, b. Jan. 1804 d.Married Milton Woods.
Lewis Naylor, b. May 6, 1805 d. 1852Married Mary Samples in 1830.
Samuel, b. May 1806 d.Married Rachel Drake in 1836.
Keziah, b. 1810 d.Married Samuel James on March 13, 1838
Alvira Jane, b. 1812 d. Never married.
From what I can tell, all were born in Kanawha County, (West) Virginia and I believe all that married were married in Kanawha though some may have been married in Jackson or Cabell (now Putnam). Most of the descendants of Jacob as well as some of his siblings still reside in this region (Kanawha, Putnam and Roane Counties in particular).
From Jacob, my line passes through one of his daughters Sarah, who married Thomas Sims. Their daughters, Mary Elizabeth and Virginia Lewis Sims, married brothers Zachariah and Eli Mynes. Mary and Zach were my GG Grandparents. One of their sons, Lewis Edgar, married Blanche Johnson and one of their daughters Edna Catherine was my Grandmother.
One thing I didn't mention was that when John married Keziah, he obtained a stepdaughter named Mary Townsend. Keziah had been married to John Townsend who died before 1789. I had read somewhere that he had been killed by Indians, but from other sources he died from disease. Mary was taken by the Shawnee in the attack on Tackett's Fort on August 27, 1790 the day after Jacob was born. She was never heard from again. She was about three years old.
