Hi Beverly,

I can assure you that the first Seaborn Tacker was NOT born at sea on the way to America. What IS certain is that at least one of the reasons Seaborn Tacker was transported to Maryland was to work. The headright system that brought Seaborn to the colonies was about bringing badly needed labor to work the land, babies would not have been eligible.

BTW, It seems to me that the original Tackers here were Quakers. Seaborn was transported to Maryland by a well known Quaker, Seaborn lived among Quakers in Maryland, his children and grandchildren intermarried with known Quaker families, and when Seaborn Tacker,Jr. wrote his will the witnesses to his will were Quakers.
