Useful Tackaberry Tree dating back to 1703
Hi, my great-grandmother, Margaret Jane "Jenny" was a Tackaberry from Lions Head, Ontario. A member of Jenny's family compiled a Tackaberry family tree tracing my line back to the Tackaberry brothers from William of Orange's army whose names were Richard and Anthony. This was a goldmine of information and so I thought I'd post a general tree here. It was a bit confusing so forgive me for any errors:
Nathaniel Tackaberry was born in 1703 in County of Carlow, Ireland and died in 1787. He had the following children:
*Richard married Alice Tackaberry, his cousin from another county
* Anthony- no records of this brother
-------------------------------------
Children of Richard and Alice Tackaberry:
*Nathaniel, b.1792, died Mar 31 1863, may have come to Canada in 1821 (although this conflicts with the idea that his son Nathaniel came to Canada in 1847), had the following children with an unkown wife:
*Nathaniel, b.1813 in Dublin, married Margaret Fernel there. Died 1879 in Lions Head, ON.
*Richard, b.1813, buried in Lions Head
-----------------------
Children of Richard (b.1813) note: Richard appears to be the son of Nathaniel Tackaberry b.1792 but it is a little confusing. This is a hand typed record from the turn of the century and so is very muddled.
*Richard Tackaberry, of Owen Sound
*Henrietta Tackaberry " "
*Anthony Tackaberry " "
------------------------------
Children of Nathaniel Takcaberry, b. 1813 d.1879 and wife Margaret Fernel, b.1821. They moved to Canada in 1847 or 48.
*Elizabeth "Lizzie", b. 1860 in Listowel, Ontario, m. William Loughheed, died Emo, N. Ontario
*Richard, b.1845 Listowel, ON, d. 1923 Lions Head. Married Mary Jane Bradley of Bervie, ON, who was b.1854 d.1930.
*Thomas b.1847 Listowel, ON. d. 1930, was buried Sault St. Marie, USA. He married Ellen Hughes, who was b. Oct 4 1846 and died 1913.
*Jim, no records. Never married.
*Joe " "
*Fannie, d. young
* John b. Nov 22 1864 Listowel, ON. d. Lions Head June 6 1939. Married to Eliza Tyndall on Dec. 25 1888. She was born Dyers Bay, ON Nov. 8 1869, died there Feb. 25 1906.
--------
The document proceeds to list the children of Lizzie, Richard, Thomas, and John. If you are interested in that information, contact me via this message board or my email, [email protected]
What confuses me is that Lizzie and John were born supposedly to the same parents almost twenty years later than alleged siblings Richard and Thomas.
Can anyone help me clear anything up here?
