Dear Dot,
Since my last message I have had a look at the Tackaberrys
and ,very surprising, found them relative easy to follow.
As regards the three Tackaberry girls who married into the Godkins they appear to be the daughters of Fossey godkin and Jane Cranwell and with Fossey's parents being John Tackaberry and sarah(Fosse).
Although John's brother,Nathaniel Tackaberry married Melody Fosse at Ballycanew,County Wexford, around 1828,none of the three Tackaberry girls named any children Nathaniel or melody while, all three, named a son,Fossey.
The only reasonable assumption is that Sarah was a "Fosse" as well and that the brothers married sisters.
Descent backwards also seems straightforward to John Taggaber and his wife Maude.Maude died 27-2-1563 and John died 9-5-1571.
If you would like to advise me of your research and to your earliest Tackaberry I will see what help I can give.
I have recently placed all the Godkins who went to Ontario into their respective families and the clue that made it so much easier was the Tackaberry name Fossey.
At least I will be able to put you in,hopefully, the right direction.
Kind Regards,
Wally
