Fern Tabler is still living in Shepherdstown, W.Va., but she is suffering from Alzheimers. Fern never married and lived most of her life in the house she grew up in. She now resides at the Canterbury care facility outside Shepherdstown.
My father and Fern were first cousins and were very fond of each other. It was such a joy for me to be reminded of what a vibrant person she used to be. If you still have the items you mentioned, I would be pleased to see them.
We are having our yearly Tabler reunion in Martinsburg on August 22 at War Memorial Park, and I'm sure others there would be interested in seeing some of Fern's history.
