Good Find! I wondered what happened to him. I have not spent much time in research about Seman, he is a brother to my ancestor Louis, and I just knew he went "west of the Mississippi". I saw, in a google search, not my own research, his marriage to Caroline Jane McClelland, slightly different spelling, same person of course. They gave Jan 15, 1850 as date of marriage in Morrow County, Ohio. That is about 100 miles farther west than his brother Louis settled in Ohio. I would guess that you might find an old Quaker community there where he settled. The other brothers seem to have gone to Iowa and can be found there. The sisters stayed in Vermont. Hopefully your great photo and these leads might help someone.
