America Swords is the wife of James Swords of Gallia County Ohio... I think her maiden name was Stewart...
They are both buried there in the Houck Family Cemetery along with his father Aaron Swords and Aaron Swords 1st wife Susannah (my gr-grand mother) is buried there too... Judy Sanders (Aaron;s 2nd wife) the mother of James swords is buried in another Cemetery in that same area.
I have not been able to locate Aaron swords family of origin yet.
He and Susannah and Wm Allen show up in the 1850 census of western Gallia County in Walnut township and they are related to the Houck Family as cousins but I have not located that connection yet either. But Harrison Twp and Walnut Twp are the areas to look at from the early 1800s Aaron/Judy lived in Mason Twp of Lawrence County around 1860s during and after he was in the Civil War with 1st Ohio Heavy Artillery.
They moved to Clark County following the migration of sister-in-law Emily Higgins Swords after her husband (Wm Allen Swords, my gr-grandfather)died of asthma and after she married into the Wilson family. Emily died there in 1941 and is buried in Glen Haven Cemetery just west of Donnelsville on Rt 40.
Feel free to contact me about research on the family
