Nancy Harriet Douglass was the sister of Celia Jane Douglass and Willam Douglass. Her parents wre Thomas & Nancy Douglas.
Celia Jane was the third wife to my GGG grandfather, John Swords. John died, and Celia remarried a Jacob Shook. THey both died and their children went to live with relatives. By the 1880 census, their son Calvin was living with Celia's sister Nancy Harriet and her husband, George B. Swords. I am trying to figure out what the relation George B. Swords was to John Swords, if any. I feel their must be as the last name is so uncommon. George B. was born in IN, as was John. I wonder if they could be brothers or cousins? Any light you could shed on this would be appreciated!!
