I'm not researching SWOPE, but one particular individual always seemed to be a very close neighbor of the PIERCE family I'm researching. Sometimes neighbors were kin. If you know of a connection, I'd like to hear about it.
1810 George Swope was next household to Francis Pearce.
1820 George Swope was again next door to Francis Pearce.
1830 George Swope was two households away from Francis, Ambrose and William Pearce. (Francis and two sons.)
Maybe Francis Pearce's wife's maiden name was SWOPE?
All in Cumberland County, KY.
