After further research, to update, it seems it's Seloncourt...but this makes sense for a few reasons, and would still connect to the numerous Swiss Blanchards.
1. They were Lutheran; we know this from family history. that region was Lutheran, but most of France was Catholic; a move to Switzerland when young is quite possible, and they might be related to some over the border..
2. Said border is only 3-4 miles away from Seloncourt.
3. The region was rather autonomous and only incorporated into France after the French Revolution. A sense of independence probably means that people from that region tended to intermingle with people from Switzerland just as easily.
