This is a re-post from a couple of years ago \and i'm still looking for info on my gggrandfather John Jacob Schiefferly b.1831 in Zurich and d.14 Jul 1889 in San Luis Obispo, California. Would like to find any info on him prior to him coming to the USA in 1849. His mother was living in Germany prior to his death and we have a Schiefferly family bible which is in german. The name Schiefferly could also have different spellings like, schiefferley, schieffarly and many others
