Jacob Muller/Miller, arrived 1753, then to Washington Co., PA
Interested in locating area where my Swiss/Bavarian ancestor came from. Jacob Muller/Miller was born in Switzerland about 1726 and arrived in Philadelphia September 26, 1753 aboard the ship "Brothers" captained by William Muir, via Rotterdam and Cowes,England.
Jacob Muller was accompied by his wife, Mary, and his brothers Christopher, Francis and Frederick.
The Mullers/Millers arrived in Claysville, Donegal Twp., Washington Co., PA by way of Maryland - by 1775 and were part of the Dutch Fork Settlement. Other families nearby were: Deeds, Fullenwider, Hupp, Leffler, Philabaum, Rice and Winter.
Jacob Muller/Miller and John Hupp were killed by the Indians on March 31, 1782. There is a small enclosed cemetery above Dutch Fork Lake with their graves and others in the family.
The Mullers/Millers were supporters of the United Brethren Church in the Claysville area.
Where in Switzerland - or Swiss/Bavaria was Jacob Muller born? That is my BIG question! Thank you for any help you might offer.
