Seeking information on a Fred J. Switzer, or Frederick J. Switzer of the Town of Watervliet, or City of Albany, N.Y. who ran the "Elm Grove Hotel" in the late 19th Century.
The Elm Grove Hotel was one of two establishments run by the Stanford Family (of Leland Stanford University line).
Recently obtained photograph of the Hotel shows a sign on the front indicating that Fred J. Switzer was the proprietor. The Elm Grove stood on the Albany and Schenectady Turnpike Road (Rt.5 Central Ave today) just west of the Albany City line into the Town of Watervliet.
Any information on the family would be appreciated. Thanks.
