Andrew Switzer - New York b. approx 1822 not 1850

Sorry - my error. I have been researching so many family surnames and dates that wrote the wrong info down. I am looking for a branch of the Switzer family which seems to have settled in and around the 5 boroughs of NY. I have been able to trace Andrew Switzer back to 1822 having been born in NYC or could have come from England also (now I'm getting confused!!) and Married Martha ??? who apparently was born in England also. They had a son, George W. b. 1950 who married Anna M. Chrissy b. about 1851 in NYC. I do know that there were additional children, I believe mainly females. Many of the males born died in infancy. George (my g-grandfather) did survive though.

The elders of the family have always talked about our Switzer family having come from Ireland possibly as Paletine Irish, however I we don't have much proof except the last name.

There are stories that our branch of the family was in the America's during the Revolutionary War and we have some guns and rifles - however they could have been picked up at a garage sale many years ago (LOL). We also have some carved scrimshaw dating back.

Anyone with information PLEASE contact me. Any information is appreciated.
