Reuben is descended from John Swinford, one of 3 brothers who are documented in Newberry Co, SC, just south of Whitmire, as early as 1779 (jury lists) plus post-war land grants. Several researchers on this line (not mine). I have a lot of hardcopy from 30 yrs ago and will send photocopies plus the descendant who helped me but has dropped out of sight. Prior to Newberry Co, circumstantially these guys are linked to the "first Swinfords" who arrived Balto in late 1600s.
