New Swindle-Swindell genealogy project !

Announcing the new Y-DNA project for the surname of Swindell (and all spelling variations). Y-DNA testing is also called “genetic genealogy”. Scientists have discovered that certain “markers” on the male DNA remain unchanged for approx 500 generations as they are passed from father to son. This is perfect for us genealogists. It means that any Swindell men whose markers match each other, must share a common ancestor. Genetic Genealogy has smashed researcher’s brick walls, confirmed their years of research, and opened up new avenues of research. It has also identified possible problems in a person’s research. It is an amazing new tool.

ONLY MEN CARRYING THE NAME OF SWINDELL (or spelling variation) CAN ACTUALLY TAKE THE TEST. Women need to find a male relative to participate for them. It is simple, quick, and painless. The man swabs the inside of his cheek, and mails the kit back in. That’s it! As the results come in and are posted, everyone will be able to see just how many different Swindell lines there are. If you don’t match someone, you do not share a common Swindell ancestor. If you’ve always wondered if you’re related to a certain Swindell lineage, this can give you the answer. If you’ve always wondered if you really have your research correct, this can tell you.

Two links are below. One is the site where results are posted. As you will see, we do already have one participant!
The other link is for more information, and to order a test kit. It is recommended you take either the 25 or 37 marker test, however for many people the 12 marker test is the most affordable, and at some later date they may choose to upgrade their test to more markers. Please let me know if you have any questions. I am the administrator for the project.

Make sure you copy & paste the entire link into your browser!
