Hello and welcome to the new Swinbank and variant spelling web page. Here are my details in brief -
JOHN SWITHENBANKE married 23/5/1685 Ingleton.Bur. 8/7/1723 Dent. Married ISABELL ALLAN bur. 13/7/1735 Dent. They had -
JOHN SWIDDENBANK bap. 18/12/1692 Ingleton Fells, bur. 3/12/1765 Dent. Married 7/7/1817 to AGNES LUND bur. 8/7/1760. They had -
ROBERT SWINBANK bap. 24/12/1826 Greenfield bur. 14/2/1867 H in Ribblesdale. Married 15/2/1851 Melling to JANE WHITEHEAD, born 17/4/1830 died 12/10/1899 H in Ribblesdale. A widow she married THOMAS EWBANK 6/4/1876. Robert and Jane had -
MARY ANN SWINBANK (my great granmother) born 2/9/1855 Camm, married 27/5/1882 Long Preston, died 23/4/1886 Darnbrook Farm, near Arncliffe/Malham. They had - JANE ELIZABETH METCALFE (my granny)10/3/1884 Darnbrook Farm, died 16/12/1964 Liverpool. After the death of Mary Ann, Christopher married HANNAH GREENWOOD born 1861 Weasdale, Ravenstonedale. Christopher and Hannah both died in Blackpool in 1938.
My thanks go to the couple who live in Hellifield who have put together a huge family tree and from that I was able to piece together my Swinbank Forest! Also to others who have also passed on information which has helped enourmously. Lets hope this site brings together many more generations of Swinbank descendents.
