Hi,
Looking for information on SWIFTs from Oxford County, Maine.
According to the Seminole Indian Wars service record of my 4th great grandfather, Simeon David SWIFT, he was born in Oxford County, Maine. His year of birth was 1814.
The 1820 census shows three families with sons between 0 and 9. They were:
Nathaniel (listed twice, on page 44 and page 70) I have found the names of his children, and Simeon was not listed.
Joseph jr. on page 10 (note on census says 6 foreign born and not naturalized, does anyone know if this is correct, because if it is, it eleminates Joseph as a possibility for Simeon's Father, says 6 foreign born, and only 6 people in the household).
John page 28
I have found John and Joseph both in 1830 and 1840 as well, and either would fit, so not sure. If anyone has information on either of these families, please let me know.
