My Swift's come from Roby Mill. I would be interested in finding out anything about Thomas Swift and Ellen Horricks Swift. They were married in 1832 in Wigan and lived in and around Roby Mill. Please let me know if you know anything. They had a 13 year old grandson who lived with them in the United States when they emigrated. His name was Thomas Dean Swift and he gives his father as Thomas Swift. Possibly this Thomas is the son of Thomas and Ellen mentioned above.
