Obituary of Charles E. Swisegood

Charles E. Swisegood, 55, of 421 West Main Street, Adair, passed away at 6:10 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2009 at his residence.

He was born on April 28, 1954 in Macomb to George P. and Suzanne Black Swisegood. He married Cheryl Creasy on June 9, 1972 in Colchester. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Andrew (Jessica) Swisegood of Athens and Christopher (Michelle) Swisegood of Ashland; two grandchildren, Natalie and Xander and one sister, Mary Swisegood of Walker Lake, Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

He lived in Table Grove and Macomb before moving to Adair in 1997. He worked for NTN-Bower in Macomb. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Smithfield Gun Club and the New Salem Christian Church. He was a Navy veteran serving from 1972 to 1973.

A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverend James Comstock officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Memorials may be made to the New Salem Christian Church.

Charles Swisegood was the editor of the Sweissguth Newsletter. A family newsletter that dealt with the genealogy of the Swisegood/Swicegood families of North America and their emmigrant ancestors.
