Virginia,
Sorry, but I don't have a clue. You say your GGgrandfather. I know my GGgrandfather was born in 1814 in Iredell county, NC. I don't know when yours was but if the time frame is similar, then this was when there wasn't a Davidson county. It was created out of Rowan county in 1826, so all of the records for that time frame would be in Rowan county. I have one Swicegood male who married a Sharpe female, but this was in the 1950's. I do have a lot of Swicegood's here (I lost 2000 people out of my database, when I thought I had it backed up and my hard drive crashed, so I've been trying to get all of the data I had handwritten into notebooks, put back into my current database). But you might really want to check out Andy Swicegood web site, it might actually have this information. He's been collecting Swicegood data for 35 years now. Just type 'Swicegood genealogy' into your browser and you'll get a website named "Schweissguth". Click on it and go. It's a huge database, and it might just cover what your looking for. Mine is only local, but his goes everywhere.
Sorry I couldn't help you.
Stephen Kent Walker
