Jonathan Sweet was born in Coventry, RI on 15 Dec. 1750, son of James and Mercy (Nichols) Sweet. Jonathan married Esther Lewis on 29 Aug. 1773 in Winchester, Litchfield, CT. They had the following children born in Winchester:
Sarah, dau., b. 16 May 1774
Lorrin, son, b. 16 Feb. 1776; d. 24 Mar. 1778
Jonathan Lewis, son, b. 26 June 1778
Lucy, dau., b. 30 June 1780
Where did Jonathan and Esther go after the birth of these children? I believe there are additional children.
In 1790 NY census he is listed in Litchfield Town, Litchfield Co., NY with 4 mailes 16 and older, two males under 16 and one female. In 1800 he is listed in Poultney, Rutland Co., VT with one male under 10, one male 10-16, one male 16-26 and one male 45 and over; one female 10-16, two females 16-26 and one female 45 and over.
Jonathan received a pension for his service in the Rev. War.
