These references to the Sweet family originating from Wales is undocumented. The father of John Sweet (1) first Sweet in Salem, MA was Robert Issac Sweet. The Sweet family was from Devonshire, England, and residences in London. John was tied to many business interests (the Earl of Warwick being one of them) from benefactors and associates (Roger Williams being a close friend).
