Hello!
I am trying to find the birthplace of Albin Erik Wickman (b. 7 Jan 1886). According to church records in Minnesota, he was born in Torsåker, V. Norrlands län. I have access to Genline, but I cannot find birth records for that parish for the date in question.
Albin's father was Peter Johan Wickman and his mother was Maria Jonsdotter (b. 4 Nov 1852 in Millmarkstorp, Östmark, Värmland, Sweden). The last information I have about Maria is this:
1876-1880 HHE Pig. Maria Jonsson (b. 4 Apr 1852, Millmarkstorp) working for Henrik Henriksson family in the village of Millmarkstorp, Östmark parish, Värmland; emigrated to Vaster-Norrland län Langsele (sp.?) 13 Nov 1877 [GID 550.39.21400]
Albin did come to the US in 1903, but I have no immigration record documenting that trip. Would Emibas have information about what village he came from? Does the 1900 Swedish Census have data on this family? I have not found them in the 1890 Swedish Census because I believe the entire family was temporarily in the US at that time.
