This could be a possibility, birth month correct, year off by 2 years. Year of emigration is the same and he is from Småland. From Emibas, which is about 75% complete:

Magnusson, Gustaf
Fabriksarbetare (unmarried man)

b. 8/11/1862 in Söraby, Kronobergs län (Småland)

Emigrated 6/15/1883
from Ut.Best.Bostad, Jönköpings Sofia, Jönköpings län (Småland)
