What a wonderful gift you've given me! (It's my 36th anniversary today.) It will take me some time to fully digest all the information and guidance you've given, but it is sincerely appreciated! As for joining groups, it was a very recent enrollment in the New England Historic Genealogical Society that led me to the 1872 marriage that led me here, so I don't mind following whatever paths it takes to get to the information!
I'll post again when I've gone thru all this. I found several of these siblings in Cambridge Mass marriages. One of the marriages I found was for 'William N' and I think that must be Nils, just from the age. I can't find Johannes on a ship, nor did I find any thing on Mathilda but I'll go back thru now. As you might expect, each of the Massachusetts records shows a different spelling of Hellgren--but just WOW, to go from nothing last Friday to a whole new branch to my tree by Tuesday is wonderful. Thanks again.
