Hi Judy,
Yes, this index is helpful. I am finding records for Johan and Hulda here because I have detailed names and Hulda is not common. I tried some other family names and got long long lists.

Now I need emigration info.

Johan August (Andersson Bror) Brodin
b. 24 Sep 1865 Bo

emigrated sometime in 1888, according to a census record in the U.S. That year is the time he disappeared in Sweden census, too.
Parents: Anders Pehr Johansson and Sara Lotta Olsdotter
His parents emigrated 22 Jun 1893. Could you check to see if some of their children came with them?

Johan and Hulda show up in Berwyn, Cook County IL in the 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930 censuses. I have a pretty good family list for them now:
Signe b. 1893 IL
Evald or Emil or Erald Eugene b. 1894 IL WWI Draft as Erald
Judith Regenia b. 1896 IL d. 1996 Butte Montana
Lucille b. 1907 IL
Evelyn Verna b. 1910 IL

Evelyn was born the same year as my mother.

Thanks, Judy. - Ramona
