Can anyone identify the Swayze ancestor memorialized on a red-sandstone tombstone with a winged figure on it in the Hope burial ground, Hope township, Warren Co. NJ?
"In memory of (chipped)ael Swayze who (missing letter)as born on LongIs(missing letters)and removed with his father to Roxbury in Morris County & from thence removed to Oxford in Suff(missing letters) County & died Augst 27 1774 Aged 53 Years &10 months." Is this information accurate? Any assistance would be appreciated.
