For years I have thought that William that married Polly Brown in Lauderdale Co., Alabama was William Cheek Swearengin who lived in Jackson Co., Alabama. I have never even considered the possibility that it might be the William that lived in Clark Co., Alabama. I'll have to look into that. But in recent days I have come to suspect that it may have been William of Iron Co., MO. Tell me how do you know his wife's maiden name was Brown. A couple of their kids were born in Alabama.
