Hi Donna,
I checked with you on my Benjamin a couple of years ago, but now have other info:
My Benjamin Swayze was born in Sept 1833 in MS (prob. Adams Co.) and was in Illinois by 1850. His father died sometime before 1839, and Benjamin's mother was named Emeline/Emiline/Emmeline C. She remarried Andrew L Beck or Beek in 1839 in Adams Co., MS.
Benjamin had a younger brother named Ambrose, born about 1837.
Does this fit with anything you have?? Thanks!
