still looking for James and Katherine Swarthout in Michigan
Been awhile since I last posted.I am still looking for any info on my gg-grandparents (James and Katherine Swarthout) who lived in the Addison, Michigan area before and just after the Civil War.I have them, and my g-grandfather John, in the 1850, 1860 & 1870 census, but nothing on James and Katherine after that. They must have lived there until their death, but I can't find anything.I have an 1874 plante map of Woodstock, MI with them most likely living near several other Swarthout's (Isaac, Zetus, another James and Aaron), but I have never been able to place them together with them?I would assume they are buried somewhere in this area, but can't track them down.Several Swarthout's are buried in Cement City cemetaries, but not them, or at least unknown where?John ended up in Jackson, and that is where our family started and is from.I know there may still be some Swarthouts down in the Addison area.Any help would be appreciated.
