Do you have a location within PA where your Jacob Swart lived? The Swarts I have info on lived in southwestern PA (Washington and Greene Co.) I know there were lots of Germans [Pennsylvania Dutch = Deutch = German) in eastern PA, Lancaster Co., particularly. The author of the Swart book I have warns about confusing his line with the Swarts in the Philadelphia area. Now the original Jacob Swart, who I believe married my Evans relative died in 1815 so he probably couldn't be responsible for your pot unless it was much older than you indicate. However there are other Jacob Swarts in the lineage. One in particular was Jacob son of Phillip son of the earlier Jacob. He lived 1820-1898 and apparently may have run a general store. It's always possible that he had pots made to sell which had his name on them as a sort of advertisement. I wouldn't lay much money on that theory, but it's one possibility.

I can't help you with Elizabeth. What's the 1810? Is it her birth year? It can't be when the photo was taken since photos didn't come into use until some years later (I think about the 1840s or 1850s).
