The Obit of Lauretta Stutzman Swanson: Any information on this family would be helpful. Lauretta is the daughter of Mable Coleman and Guy Stutzman, of Charlevoix MI. Mabel is my gr gr Aunt. Don't have much information on the Colemans. Mabel's sister Blanche Coleman Featherly was my gr grandmother.

Lauretta Rene' Swanson, 87, of Charlevoix, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at the home of her daughter, Jean Swanson, in Charlevoix.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Mar 31, at Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix.The Rev. Eugene Baughan of the Barnard United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Barnard Cemetary in Marion Township.
Lauretta was born in Horton Bay on Feb. 28, 1914, the daughter of Guy and Mabel (Coleman) Stutzman.She attended Charlevoix High School, graduating in 1933.
On Sept. 14, 1934, she married Edward C. Swanson in Charlevoix. He preceded her in death in October of 1982.
Lauretta worked for many years at Kroger's in Charlevoix as a clerk and as the manager of the dairy department.
She played organ at the Barnard United Methodist Church.Lauretta also played piano with her brother, Joe Stutzman, and friend, Jap Warner, at Granges and private functions and also in fiddlers' jamborees.What she enjoyed most was her family and being a loving grandmother and great grandmother.
Lauretta was a member of the Rebekahs, where she had been a past noble grand.
Survivors include her four children, Jean Swanson, Guy Swanson, Shaon (Tom) Davis, all of Charlevoix, and Carl (Jamie) Swanson of Grand Rapids; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preded in death by a daughter,Roberta A. Wegner; brother , Joe Stutzman; and infant sister, Clara Belle; and a great granddaughter, Samantha.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Charlevoix Senior Center. Envelopes are available at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix, where friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today, Friday, March 30.
