Col. Edward Swann, Sr. married Susannah Heath and they named their 3rd child Susannah. (Other children: Samuel, James, Sr., Thomas, Sr., Edward, William, Judith, Richard, John, Henry) It appears that Edward was born in Kent, England. His parents came to Virginia around 1616 and his brother Thomas was born in Virginia in 1616. Edward died about 1669 in St. Mary City, Md. His parents were William Swann and Judith Greene. (other children: Thomas, Matthew, Samuel, John, James)
William was born in 1586 in Gravesend, Kent, England and died in 1638 in Surry Co., Va. (Swann's Point). William was the Royal Customs Collector of the Virginia Colony. His father was Samuel also of Gravesend, Kent, England, and his father was Francis.
Judith Greene was born in 1588 at St. Dunstan, Stepnex, England and she died in 1636 in Virginia. Her parents were Richard Greene and Margery Showell. William and Judith were married April 16, 1612 in Middlesex, England.
I have not continued the search of Edward and Susannah because they moved to Maryland and I am researching the part of the family that stayed in Virginia.
