James, It's been a long road but I've been making slow, steady progress. Thanks for your assistance. I've found David Swan(n), my oldest known relative, living around Hinds County and before then working for a man named Wilson Henderson. I don't know whether Wilson was a Senior, Junior, Tri or Quad but he was living in Lauderdale County in 1866. That's when my relative worked for Wilson. This is why my focus is on Swan(n)s and Hendersons in Lauderdale. There is another V.I.P. and that is Choctaw County,AL which was form out of Sumter County,AL and Sumter County out of Washington County. Both Swan(n)s and Hendersons lived in all these Counties. I found both Burch Swan and Alfred Swan in Washington County,AL in 1830 Census. Later I find Buck Swan in 1850 Census on Lauderdale, MS. I no longer find him on any Census unless he is Thomas B. Swan, who is found in later Mississippi Census but listed as living in Maryland, maybe Charles, Co.(i could be assuming too much here). The other VIPs are Alfred M. Swan had a son born in Choctaw 1836 named D.B. Swan (i hope D stands for David. But there is also (as I mentioned ealier). D. Swan a Female, 65 years, born in Virginia is listed in 1850 Choctaw,AL Census with her sons Jackson & Joseph Swan. I believe her(D.- 65ys Female) husband name also began with a "D" hopefully David. Of course I need Wills & Deed to prove this. I'll keep stepping in hopes of finding more information to reveal ancestry. Thanks! Notify Administrator about this message?
